The Concussion Assessment Program of the Center for Complex Systems and Brain Sciences at Florida Atlantic University is conducting a survey to examine concussion assessment and management practices and policies. The purpose of this survey is to better understand the current practices and attitudes surrounding sport related concussion and their relationship to guidelines available in the literature. Moreover, this study will aid in understanding the degree to which empirically based approaches to assessment and management of concussion in athletics are disseminated to the athletic training community and how fully recommendations are adopted into clinical practice.
You have been invited to participate in this survey because you are a certified athletic trainer working with athletes at the collegiate level. Your participation is completely voluntary and you may end your participation in the study at any time by not submitting your responses. The online survey is completed at no monetary cost to you. The survey can be completed from any web browser and should take less then 15 minutes to complete and submit.
Your responses will be stripped of all identifying data to maintain confidentiality, with school affiliation being the minimum level of detail reported in the analysis. There are no risks associated with this study outside those experienced from normal computer use.
The Collegiate Sports Medicine Foundation organized the survey into the web format, and your responses will be received directly by the Center for Complex Systems and Brain Sciences at Florida Atlantic University for analysis and reformat. At the conclusion of the study, the data will be made available to the Collegiate Sports Medicine Foundation (www.csmfoundation.org) as a resource for the sports medicine community.
