Graduate Assistantship Program Partnership
The Collegiate Sports Medicine Foundation has teamed up with California University of Pennsylvania to provide college and universities an opportunity to provide graduate students an opportunity to obtain a Master of Science Degree while providing an assistantship to the school associated with the program.

Basically the graduate student would be enrolled in the California University of Pennsylvania (Cal PA) online graduate program and at the same time working as a graduate assistant at your institution.

School Profile:
This program would be ideal for those institutions having difficulties fulfilling graduate positions based off of the fact that their institution doesn't offer a degree program attractive to the athletic training student.

4 Tracks:
Track 1: Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention
Track 2: Wellness and Fitness
Track 3: Rehabilitation Science
Track 4: Sport Psychology

12 Month Program with two start dates (January and July)

Completely Online

No mandatory meeting times.  Students have the option as to when to read assignments, participate in projects based upon their schedule and requirements with their host university.

Tuition:
In-State = $11,000
Out-of-State = $15,000

Requirements of the "Host" University:
Provide a competitive compensation package while allowing students the necessary time to complete assignments in and around their clinical obligations to their host institution.  The school has the ability to structure their package to attract the best possible candidate for their position.

Example:

ABC University could choose to provide In-State Tuition ($11,000) and a $1000 / month stipend (Similar to how many schools structure their current graduate assistantships).  School could choose to directly pay California University of Pennsylvania the students tuition and then pay the student per month or the school could pay the student only and the student would then be responsible for tuition.  The student is treated as a Full-time graduate student and thus eligible for federal financial aid.

Benefits to Student:
- 12 Month Program completely online providing the student the ability to maximize their clinical experience at their host institution.

- Provides the students to expand their resume while obtaining a Master of Science Degree from one institution while completing an internship at another.  Could also be available for Full-time staff members looking to complete a master's degree without leaving their current job situation.

Marketing of Program to Students.

California University of Pennsylvania would adventives the position however it is recommenced that the host institution market this program themselves.  Schools participating in this program with the Collegiate Sports Medicine Foundation would be able to utilize the CSMF web site, discussion group and eblast to promote their positions.

Selection of Students:

The selection of students for your instructions would be controlled jointly by the Head Athletic Trainer or designee at the host institution and the Graduate Admissions requirements at California University of Pennsylvania.  Ultimately the decision to have a student at your campus is your choice based upon their acceptance into the program.  Just because a student meets the requirements to the California University of Pennsylvania does not guarantee them an assistantship at any of the host instructions.
